Please use this space to create a research notebook input from today's basic and/or applied research.  Your notes should include your research question, hypothesis, data plan/procedure, data collected, and a conclusion.  You should include assumptions or limitations of your research, questions that came up, future research ideas, etc.

BWhy does the Georgia State Capitol have a gold dome?

We think the Georgia Capital Dome is covered in gold because gold is a state resource found in Dahlonega, GA.

We will use our electronic devices to research the question.  Wikipedia is not a reputable resource.

According to the Fun Guide to US Capitals, the Georgia State Capital was covered in gold that was donated from around the state.  It had to be replaced in 1957, it was proposed by a GA engineer, living in Atlanta, that a more attractive and durable surface be used.  It was re-purposed in gold, which is more durable than the previous tin that was originally used.

According the data that was collected from, Fun Guide to US Capitals, we were not 100% correct.  The gold to cover the dome was donated by many people from around the state, it did not come exclusively from Dhalonega, GA.

Limitations on our conclusion include the use of only 1 internet resource.  We didn't have the articles when we first began the project.

By the way, Dhalonega, a Cherokee word, stands for Gold.
