Welcome to Fall 2015 Advanced Scientific Research. This is Wheeler's capstone course with the principal learning objective of mastering the research process. You will do this through a semester-long building process of critical and creative thinking, along with mastery of the basic principles of scientific research. You will conceive, frame, execute and present a research problem derived from your experience at your internship.
This week, we will:
Monday: Go over course expectations and meet each other.
Tuesday: Lecture on the basics of research; observation/inference; examples of past student research.
Wednesday: What Research Is Not ... lecture; Project 1.1 and Epidemiology Assignment
Thursday: Round table discuss of Project 1.1
Friday: Begin NIH Project
