Open house is Tuesday, 8/26/14, and I hope to see parents there. Students created invitations that were combined with renderings of some architectural features of Wheeler, and they did an outstanding job. Student blogs have now been created and will go live next week. Students will be able to display parts of their portfolios and to practice writing and blogging skills on a weekly basis. Next week also we will start one-on-one milling work with our independent study student, Hunter S.
After two weeks of class, Arch 1 students have studies housing styles (Cape Cod, traditional, etc) and housing styles (ranch, split level, story-and-a-half, and two story.) In addition, each student created a presentation of five significant buildings - both significant to the student and significant architecturally.
